Rockets hit hard by Caldwell threes

MARION, Ky. – Caldwell County seized control early and never let up Saturday, handing Crittenden County an 86-45 loss as the Tigers buried the Rockets with a barrage of 3-pointers that triggered a running clock by halftime.

Caldwell opened the game with 14 straight points and jetted out to a 27-3 lead. Crittenden steadied briefly late in the first quarter, but still trailed 29-10 after eight minutes. 

Caldwell (9-9) had 13 three-pointers in the game, one shy of its school record. 

Crittenden (1-21) was led in scoring by Brady Dayberry with nine points, all three pointers. The Rocket made 8 threes in the contest. 

Caldwell has now won five straight meetings with Crittenden and 11 of the last 12 overall. 

The Rockets will play a district game at Trigg County Tuesday. They will see Caldwell agains on Feb. 9 at Princeton.
