Crittenden's Anna Boone defends against Livingston Central's Aubrey Leahy. |
CCHS beat the Lady Cardinals for the 14th time in the last 15 tries and captured a key league win in the season’s first week. Crittenden will be back in district action next Friday at Lyon County.
The team's all-time leading scorer, Guess needs just 49 more to reach the 2,000 point plateau. She was the catalyst behind Crittenden’s win, although Livingston stayed close for almost three periods. LCHS played within 10 or so most that time, but CCHS outscored their guests 19-1 in the final period to make it a blowout.
Senior Natalie Boone and her freshman sister Anna Boone added 26 points – 13 apiece including three treys each – for the Lady Rockets. CCHS nailed half of its long-range goals in the fourth period when it pulled away for a lopsided win.
Crittenden improved to 1-1 on the season after losing their opener at Graves County earlier in the week.
Livingston, which had just seven players dressed for the game because of sickness on the team, had no one in double-figure scoring. The Lady Cardinals are now 1-1.
