Lady Rockets scorch Bombers 54-16

Crittenden County improved to 3-0 on Saturday, beating Ballard Memorial in trouble-free fashion.

Crittenden led 10-0 just over a minute into the game while Ballard had scarcely gotten the ball out of its backcourt against the Lady Rocket full-court trapping press.

The previously unbeaten Bomber girls showed a little life with an 8-4 spurt after CCHS called off the trap and missed some makable shots. But once the Rockets girls got back on track they tripled the visitor’s score, 33-11, with two minutes left in half.

The game was terribly lopsided with Crittenden leading by more than 30 late, and everyone on the CCHS bench got in on the action in the fourth quarter. Ballard was scoreless in the final period.

Junior guard Taylor Guess, who had scored 49 a few days earlier in a scrimmage against Ballard as CCHS won on the road 78-37, posted 23 this time and senior Grace Driskill added 10.
