Rockets get behind early and lose at Russellville

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – Crittenden County fell to 0-7 on the season with a 73-27 loss at Russellville (3-2) on Friday.

Russellville seized control early, leading 16-7 after the first quarter and stretching the margin to 39-14 by halftime. The Panthers continued to pull away in the second half, outscoring Crittenden 34-13 over the final two periods.

Crittenden was led by Brady Dayberry, Brayden Poindexter and Logan Martin with 5 points apiece. The Rockets made 10 field goals, hit one 3-pointer and went 6 of 8 from the free-throw line.

Russellville placed six players in double figures, paced by Dickerson with 12 and Marrow with 10. The Panthers finished with 31 field goals, four 3-pointers and went 7 of 16 at the line.

Crittenden will be at home Tuesday for a Fifth District matchup with Lyon County, ranked among the state’s top 20 in most preseason polls.
