CCHS lost 42-34 as senior Jaxon Hatfield led the Rockets with 10 points. He was the only player in double figures for CCHS.
Dawson Springs, now 7-3, has beaten Crittenden three straight times. Before the Panthers’ win streak against CCHS, the Rocket had beaten Dawson 18 in a row dating back to 2011.
Crittenden County is now 1-8 on the season and will play next week in the Owensboro Southwire Holiday Classic. The Rockets will play McLean County (10-2) and Hancock County (4-7) in the holiday event.
Champion, who tore his ACL in the second game of the season, is expected to return to the lineup at Owensboro. Doctors have told the senior that he can brace the knee and play so long he can bear any pain that might go along with it.
