Rockets lose for first time in district

After Lyon County raced out to a 22-5 lead early, there wasn’t any doubt about the outcome as it rolled to beating Crittenden County 79-41 Tuesday at Eddyville and improved to 2-0 in the Fifth District.

Still the Lyons (6-4, 2-0) kept pouring it on and CCHS continued to make mistakes. Soon the hosts were in command 40-8 before some of the bench players got in on the action and the running clock was applied.

Although the Lyons have lost four games, they are undefeated in Second Region play. Projected as the region’s No. 1 team, the Lyons have played a very difficult early-season schedule.

The Rockets fall to 6-5 overall and are now 2-1 in district play.
