CCHS basketball splits in home opener

Crittenden County's girls showed right out of the chute their ability to score, and score deep. Ten Lady Rockets got on the board as CCHS beat University Heights 60-23 in a game that didn't finish until well after 10pm Tuesday night at Rocket Arena. It was the last of a three-game set that included boys' JV and varsity games at Marion.

The Rockets opened the night's varsity action with a 76-62 loss to Union County in a game that was much more lopsided than that early in the fourth period. A late surge by CCHS closed the gap and gave Rocket Coach Denis Hodge some comfort.
