Double Dose of Victory for CCHS hoopsters

GIRLS BEAT TILGHMAN
Crittenden County’s girls are on a three-game roll and they’re starting to regain some respect around the region – and beyond – particularly with poll-makers.

The Rocket girls (4-3) won at home Tuesday over Paducah Tilghman (3-4). It was the Lady Tornado’s first loss to a Kentucky team this season. 

Crittenden weathered some heavy ball pressure, including a regular double-team, on its point guard, Taylor Guess, and got some big offense late from juniors Nahla Woodward and Chandler Moss to win 52-51 in a bruiser.

ROCKETS PICKING UP STEAM
Winless Livingston Central will visit Rocket Arena on Friday just as the Rocket basketball team is starting to create some semblance of an identity.

Junior forward Preston Turley is starting to heat up despite losing a toenail in Saturday’s loss at University Heights. Crittenden led by a point at the half at UHA but lost the lead and Turley’s toenail in the second half.

Turley scored 34 Monday at home in a win over Hardin County, Ill., and Gabe Mott and Eric O’Leary scored 27 apiece on the road to help beat Christian Fellowship Tuesday.
