Lady Rockets stumble in Fifth District finale

CCHS coach Shannon Hodge was frustrated
by her team's inability to score vs. Lyon.

Crittenden County stumbled out of the gate and was never able to make a serious run at Lyon County in the Friday's Fifth District championship game at Smithland.

Although the Lady Rockets shot poorly for three periods and fell behind by as many as 20 points, the girls did manage to score more points in the fourth period than they had the previous three quarters, which kept fans in their seats as the game closed. Crittenden pulled to within six points with seconds remaining, but Lyon won 45-37.

Chelsea Oliver scored 17 for Crittenden and had 7 rebounds. Becca Somers had 20 for Lyon and Barrett Blackburn 14.
