Lady Rockets forge comeback to beat Todd

Morgan Stewart was the game MVP
DRAFFENVILLE, Ky. – In a tough early-season matchup Wednesday night in the prestigious Marshall County HoopFest, Crittenden County (2-0) overcame an early deficit to secure a hard-fought victory against Todd Central (1-1), winning 61-59.

The Lady Rockets started sluggishly on offense, trailing early by as many as 8 points. However, Morgan Stewart provided a pivotal spark off the bench, scoring a team-high 19 points and being named MVP of the game.

Crittenden also got double-digit contributions from Anna Boone and Andrea Federico. The team’s improved second-half shooting, including 3-pointers by Elliot Evans and Jordyn Hodge, helped close the gap and shift momentum. Stewart also scored six points in a row to lift CCHS to seven-point lead, its largest of the second half late in the fourth period.

Crittenden's consistency at the foul line, shooting 19-for-25, further solidified their comeback effort.

Todd Central was Fourth Region Tournament runnerup last season.

The Lady Rockets will be back in action Thursday night at home against Union County in a girl-boy doubleheader that tips off a 6pm.

CRITTENDEN - Boone 12, Evans 9, Hodge 9, Rushing 4, Federico 8, Stewart 19, Holeman. 3-pointers 2 (Evans, Hodge). FT 19-25.
