Rockets fall behind early in loss at HopCentral

MORTON’S GAP, Ky. – Hopkins Central pulled away early and never let up Thursday night, handing Crittenden County a 73-41 loss.

The Rockets fell behind 23-11 after one quarter and trailed 40-19 at halftime as Hopkins Central built separation with balanced scoring and efficiency at the free-throw line. The Storm shot 28 field goals and went 13 of 19 from the stripe.

Crittenden finished with 17 field goals and struggled at the line, converting just 4 of 13 attempts. Brayden Poindexter led the Rockets with 10 points, followed by Brady Dayberry with 9 and Conner Poindexter with 8. 

Crittenden dropped its third straight game and fell to 2-25 on the season. Hopkins Central improved to 13-8. The Rockets will return home Friday night to host Webster County.
