Lady Rockets run table on 5th District

CADIZ, Ky. – While Crittenden County’s lopsided 56-20 win at Trigg County on Tuesday night in Cadiz may have drawn little attention beyond the final score, the significance of the victory was substantial.

With the win, this year’s senior class now stands alone as the winningest group in Crittenden County High School history, compiling 83 victories since their freshman season. Some of the seniors saw varsity action even before they were in high school.

The triumph was the Lady Rockets’ sixth straight in Fifth District play this season, completing a clean sweep of the regular-season round robin and locking up the undisputed No. 1 seed for the district tournament, which will be played later this month at Rocket Arena. It marked the first time in two years Crittenden (16-4) has gone unbeaten in regular-season district competition. Today’s seniors were freshman when it happened last.

The victory also continued Crittenden’s firm grip on the series. The Lady Rockets have now won 12 consecutive meetings with Trigg County (9-9), a streak that dates back to a loss in the 2020 district tournament championship game.

CCHS hosts Christian County Thursday night.
