The Rockets trailed early and watched the Lyon lead grow to 31 points before they trimmed back in the last few minutes of the contest.
The teams’ two all-region guards – Crittenden’s Gabe Mott and Lyon’s Travis Perry – finished at a draw with 20 points apiece, but Lyon won the battle at the rim.
The Rockets couldn’t get much going around the basket and missed some open jumpers, too. Lyon didn’t shoot particularly well either, but controlled he boards and finished on a number second and third opportunities at the basket.
It was Crittenden’s second district loss of the season after falling to Trigg a week earlier. Lyon improves to 2-0 in the district.

GUESS SCORES 34 FOR GIRLS
The Lady Rockets had a must-win situation Friday at Lyon County despite being only the second week of the season, and they pulled it off.
Crittenden opened up a game that started close with a big run in the second period which started when freshman point guard Taylor Guess sank a three to pull CCHS ahead 12-9. The Rocket girls never trailed after that point.
Guess finished with a career-best 34 points. She had scored 31 last Saturday at Ballard and is averaging well over 20 points per game at this point.
Crittenden improves to 1-1 in the district, but Trigg won, too, beating Livingston Central to improve to 2-0. Crittenden lost last week to Trigg.
