It’s been a good weekend for the Crittenden County basketball teams.
The Lady Rockets won for the third straight time Saturday, getting a quality win over Union County and equalling the season’s longest win streak.
The girls beat St. Mary on the road Friday night with a big second-half from Cassidy Moss then used good defense to dispatch the Lady Braves at Marion the following evening. The Lady Rockets (13-14) can finish better than .500 this season with two more wins to close out the year against Hopkins Central and Fort Campbell.
Meantime, the Rockets earned a big win Saturday at home on Senior Night.
Ryan James, starting for the first time this season, grabbed a huge rebound, was fouled then knocked down the winning free throws with 11 seconds to play as the Rockets beat Fort Campbell at Marion.
Crittenden’s boys (4-22) didn’t have as much success Friday at St. Mary as the Vikings won by 21. The Rockets have won two of their last three games.
Both boys' and girls' teams appear ready for the final week of regular season and the playoffs, which kick off a week from Monday at Eddyvlle.
