Livingston blocks Crittenden from 5th District finals

Livingston Central (11-15) will play Lyon County in the Girls' Fifth District championship game at 7 p.m., Thursday. Lyon beat Trigg easily Monday night at Rocket Arena and the Lady Cardinals edged Crittenden in a close one.

Crittenden (7-18) was within six points with four minutes to play, but Livingston pulled away by hitting its foul shots down the stretch. Livingston center Hailee Lampley had 18 points, six rebounds and blocked five shots. Forward Hannah Leidecker had 18, too. Livingston won 60-43.

Crittenden's leading offensive player, Chelsea Oliver, had just just two at the half, but brought her team back after being down 15 in the second half. Oliver finished with 18 points.

PODCAST: Rockets get Ft. Campbell, poised for postseason

Crittenden County won a tough game over Fort Campbell Friday at Rocket Arena. The game wasn't decided until the last two minutes as CCHS prevailed 72-65. The Falcons had beaten the Rockets earlier in the season.

CCHS senior Travis Gilbert scored 20, senior Devin Belt 17 and senior Aaron Owen 12... On Senior Night. Junior Landon Young also scored a dozen. Gilbert had five threes and the Rockets had eight as a team.

Now, coach Denis Hodge's Rockets head into the playoffs facing arch-rival Livingston Central in Tuesday's opener on Crittenden's home floor.

New mascot unveiled tonight at basketball senior night

A new tradition will be launched tonight in Rocket Arena. A brand new custom-made Rockets mascot costume will be unveiled at senior night as the varsity teams host Fort Campbell.

A great portion of the money to buy the costume was raised through T-shirt and pork chop sales and other fundraisers.

The Rocket mascot will be available for birthday parties or at other community events.
